IELTS General Training Task 1
GT Task 1 yêu cầu viết một bức thư 150+ từ trong 20 phút, bao phủ 3 bullet points. Đề sẽ nêu rõ mối quan hệ với người nhận — từ đó quyết định register formal / semi-formal / informal.
Rubric giải thích
Cùng 4 tiêu chí như Academic Task 1. Task Achievement đánh giá cả việc cover đủ 3 bullet points VÀ register khớp đúng với mối quan hệ đã nêu.
Task Achievement
Cover đủ 3 bullet points VÀ register match với mối quan hệ (formal / semi-formal / informal).
Coherence & Cohesion
Greeting → thân thư → sign-off mạch lạc, phân đoạn hợp lý.
Lexical Resource
Cụm từ phù hợp thư (I am writing to…, Let me know…), collocation đúng register.
Grammatical Range & Accuracy
Cấu trúc đa dạng; contraction chỉ dùng trong thư informal.
Cách tính điểm
Task 1 = 1/3 điểm Writing. Mỗi tiêu chí 0–9, làm tròn 0.5. Sai register cap TA ở band 5.
Khác biệt giữa các band / cấp độ
Formal
Dear Sir/Madam → Yours faithfully. Không contraction. Vd: thư khiếu nại, đơn xin việc.
Semi-formal
Dear Mr/Ms [Surname] → Yours sincerely. Lịch sự, ít contraction. Vd: thư gửi sếp, landlord.
Informal
Dear [tên] / Hi [tên] → Best wishes / Take care. Contraction và idiom OK. Vd: thư gửi bạn.

You recently bought a piece of equipment for your kitchen but it did not work. You phoned the shop but no action was taken. Write a letter to the shop manager. In your letter: describe the problem with the equipment; explain what happened when you phoned the shop; say what you would like the manager to do. Begin your letter "Dear Sir or Madam," and write at least 150 words. Do not write any addresses.
