IB Theory of Knowledge Essay
TOK essay là requirement của IB Diploma — bài 1600 từ trả lời một trong sáu Prescribed Titles (PTs) do IBO công bố mỗi kỳ May. Chấm holistic 10 điểm trên một tiêu chí duy nhất.
Rubric giải thích
5 bands: Excellent (9–10) · Good (7–8) · Satisfactory (5–6) · Basic (3–4) · Rudimentary (1–2). Tiêu chí trung tâm: critical exploration of the PT.
Knowledge questions
Essay phải framed như knowledge question, không phải topic question.
Areas of Knowledge (AOKs)
Phải explore ≥2 AOKs với ví dụ cụ thể — không chỉ section headers.
Counter-perspective
Nêu và engage seriously với counter-view — không strawman.
Implications
9–10 essays còn xem xét implications của argument.
Cách tính điểm
10-pt holistic. Topic-question (thay vì knowledge question) → cap Band 5–6. Counter-view chỉ strawman → cap Band 5–6. Không có PT → Revise refuse to grade.
Note
PT refresh mỗi May session. Student phải paste PT vào prompt field. Không có PT → không chấm.
Khác biệt giữa các band / cấp độ
9–10 Excellent
Nuanced exploration của PT, counter-perspectives engaged, implications considered.
7–8 Good
Focused, convincing, 2+ AOKs với ví dụ cụ thể, counter-perspective engaged.
5–6 Satisfactory
Focused but uneven; examples generic; KQs implied.
3–4 Basic
Descriptive, treats PT as topic.
1–2 Rudimentary
Little engagement with PT.

Dạt về AOK yêu thích thay vì trả lời PT — cap Band 5–6.

Kết luận restate thesis thay vì implications — cap Band 7–8.
6.
Dưới 800 từ — Revise không chấm.
