AP History Document-Based Question (DBQ)
DBQ là bài 60 phút (15 phút đọc + 45 phút viết) dùng cho cả ba kỳ thi AP History. Rubric 7 điểm của College Board áp dụng giống hệt.
Rubric giải thích
7 reporting points: Thesis (A, 1) · Contextualization (B, 1) · Evidence — Documents (C, tới 2) · Evidence — Beyond (D, 1) · Sourcing / HIPP (E, 1) · Complex Understanding (F, 1).
A · Thesis (0–1)
Historically defensible claim trả lời prompt. Restate prompt = mất điểm.
B · Contextualization (0–1)
3–4 câu bối cảnh rộng, không chỉ một sự kiện.
C · Evidence — Documents (0–2)
1 pt: dùng content 3+ docs. 2 pts: support argument bằng 6+ docs.
D · Evidence — Beyond (0–1)
Ít nhất 1 evidence ngoài documents, liên quan argument.
E · Sourcing / HIPP (0–1)
Point of View / Purpose / Situation / Audience cho ÍT NHẤT 2 documents, gắn vào argument.
F · Complex Understanding (0–1)
Sustained move: qualification, counter-argument, cross-period comparison, multiple causation.
Cách tính điểm
Tổng 7 điểm. Revise refuse to grade nếu không có document set.
Note
Revise yêu cầu student paste toàn bộ document set (thường 7 docs) trước khi chấm. Không có docs → refuse to grade.
Khác biệt giữa các band / cấp độ
7/7
Thesis + context + 6-doc argument + HIPP sourcing + sustained complex + evidence beyond.
4–5/7
Thesis + một số docs tích hợp nhưng thường thiếu sourcing hoặc complex.
≤3/7
Thường chỉ liệt kê docs hoặc restate prompt.

Sourcing chỉ nói "this is a letter by…" mà không phân tích Purpose — mất E.
4.
Hedge một câu ("however, it's complex") thay vì sustained complexity — mất F.
5.
Thesis restate prompt thay vì defensible claim — mất A.
6.
Bỏ qua Evidence Beyond (D) — mất 1 pt dễ kiếm.
